About this piece
Handwoven wool kilim rug, 100 × 150 cm (3'3" x 4'11"). Our finest and thinnest kilim: a light ground of undyed wool with embroidery in black and indigo blue.
The ground was woven flat first, then the borders and small flowers were embroidered by needle, so they stand out slightly. Only the blue is dyed with indigo; everything else is the sheep's own colour.
Lovely beside the bed, in a study, in a reading corner or as a wall hanging. It has one show side.

Good to know
Untreated wool smells faintly of wool at first; two or three days of fresh air take care of it. Care: shake out regularly, blot spills right away with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
