About this piece
Handwoven wool kilim rug, 81 × 130 cm (2'8" x 4'3"), plant dyed and reversible. Seven columns of diamonds in orange and beige, edged all round in orange with abrash.
The beige comes from madder, weld and alum. In the first row of one beige column the weaver chose to weave a motif in grey, outside the colour scheme of the rest.
For an entryway, a landing, in front of a console, beside the bed or as a wall hanging.

Good to know
Untreated wool smells faintly of wool at first; two or three days of fresh air take care of it. Care: shake out regularly, blot spills right away with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
