About this piece
Handwoven wool kilim rug, 84 × 123 cm (2'9" x 4'0"), plant dyed and reversible. Ten diagonal bands in light brown, blue and red, each carrying a motif in the colour of the next.
The light brown is undyed sheep's wool, the blue comes from indigo, the red from madder. Red sits on light brown, light brown on blue, blue on red, and so on across the whole rug.
For an entryway, a landing, beside the bed or as a wall hanging.

Good to know
A light wool smell at the start is a sign of untreated wool and fades after two or three days of fresh air. Care: shake out, blot spills with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
