About this piece
Handwoven wool kilim rug, 109 × 157 cm (3'7" x 5'2"), plant dyed and reversible. Five columns of diamonds in green, beige and blue, framed in red lines, all in a warm, time-worn tone.
A warm yellow cast lies over every colour and makes the rug look as if it had been in use for years. The beige border comes from madder, weld and alum and holds hexagons in green, orange, cream and blue.
Goes well with wood and warm tones: in an entryway, in front of a console, beside the bed or in a study.

Good to know
A light wool smell at the start is a sign of untreated wool and fades after two or three days of fresh air. Care: shake out, blot spills with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
