About this piece
Handwoven wool kilim rug, 102 × 154 cm (3'4" x 5'1"), plant dyed and reversible. Eight linked light diamonds on a black ground, framed by an indigo blue border with hexagons.
The black of the field and the white of the diamonds are undyed sheep's wool, the cream comes from weld. At the edge the running-water motif is woven once in blue, once in madder red.
For an entryway, at the foot of the bed, under a desk chair or in front of an armchair.

Good to know
Untreated wool smells faintly of wool at first; two or three days of fresh air take care of it. Care: shake out regularly, blot spills right away with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
