About this piece
Handwoven wool kilim rug, 104 × 160 cm (3'5" x 5'3"), plant dyed and reversible. A black lattice of diamonds in green, red, orange and cream, framed by a grey border with hexagons.
The black lines are natural black, undyed wool and make the plant dyes beside them look stronger. The grey of the border comes from pomegranate peel with iron, and the running-water motif on the outside is woven in indigo blue and madder red.
A strong eye catcher for an entryway, hallway, beside the bed or under a desk.

Good to know
Untreated wool smells faintly of wool at first; two or three days of fresh air take care of it. Care: shake out regularly, blot spills right away with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
