About this piece
Handwoven gabbeh kilim rug in undyed, hand-spun sheep's wool, 100 × 150 cm (3'3" x 4'11"). Nested frames in grey and cream, alternating flat weave and pile.
The outer edge is thick gabbeh pile so the rug lies well, then comes a flat kilim band and a flat rectangle in the centre. The shape is deliberately not quite symmetrical, woven without a drawing.
Fits beside the bed, in front of a sofa, in an entryway and in Scandinavian or Japandi rooms.

Good to know
A light wool smell at the start is a sign of untreated wool and fades after two or three days of fresh air. Care: shake out, blot spills with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
